The first eight years of my full-time teaching life I spent teaching middle school language arts, social science, theatre, and designated ELD. I just recently switched to kindergarten! The Beginnings of Agriculture Illustrated Flowchart
This flowchart covers the impact of agriculture on societies. Students write short summaries with supporting details. Each summary is illustrated. I've used this flowchart with my students for a few years now. It serves as a great assessment to check my students' understanding of the basic beginnings of civilization.

W.A.C. Vocabulary Graphic Organizer
This graphic organizer is Common Core State Standards aligned. The printable is designed to use with W.A.C. (Word Structure, Apposition, and Context Clues) vocabulary strategies. Using the graphic organizer, students will have to cite evidence, and use vocabulary strategies to determine the meaning. This is a great resource to use with word lists provided by teachers, but also works with independent student word study lists.

Teaching style
It is my goal for my students to be as passionate about the content as I am. I believe in a student-centered approach to teaching where I give students as many opportunities as possible to be creative, make meaning, become experts, and think critically. As a Google Certified Educator, I enjoy integrating technology into my lessons. I believe that technology should be used in a classroom to expand on content in a rigorous, engaging, meaningful, and fun way!
