Dang, You're Fast at Math,Mental Math,Adding,Subtracting,Squaring,Percents

The intent of this puzzle book’s “companion volume”, A Substantial Prime Number of Neat Numbers, was to help with awareness of math facts and properties that would benefit ALL pre-college test takers . . . grade level requisite exams, graduation exams, SATs, ACTs, quiz bowls, math counts. Dang, You’re Fast at Math! works with various math short cuts and “tricks.” Though it can benefit all math students it does reach beyond classroom topics and aims at those teachers and students who desire,

Thanksgiving Week Fun,3 Puzzle Package,Arithmetic,Vocabulary,Foods,X-word,W.S.

This offering is a three puzzle package involving Thanksgiving. Included are an arithmetic-based essay where the student does elementary arithmetic to supply the numbers for my prose . . . hopefully mentally. The student will need to know how to add and subtract (which I've given instructions for), evaluate simple exponents, and obey the order of operations. There is a food search where the student will find 20 of the more common foods partaken on Thanksgiving, then uncover a hidden message

Mathematics, Thanksgiving, Arithmetic Look at Thanksgiving History

This offering is a nice puzzle to use during Thanksgiving week. It might best be used as a last day exercise in which fun can be had while learning also occurs . . . a win-win activity. As the student "writes" a Thanksgiving Day essay by evaluating arithmetic expressions using addition, subtraction, some fairly small exponential expressions, and order of operations they'll also learn of the history of Thanksgiving while breaking a coded message. The intent is for all problems to be done men

St. Patrick's Day puzzle,Deducing some St. Pat's stats,History & Arithmetic

Here's a St. Patrick's Day Puzzle that yields a bit of history and lore while enriching mental math abilities. To fill in the blanks, and find the answer to the anonymous quote, match the date below the blank with the letters and events below. If you do not recall the date of the events listed, I’ve given you the math wherewithal to calculate the date. Of course, it might help to learn/remember that a quick way to subtract mentally is by “over-subtracting.” Consider 736 – 198. Inste

The review/enrichment sheets in our Board Sessions series “cover” material much faster than nearly any course in America teaches the topics. We wanted 20 review/enrichment sheets per course, so we divided the number of content pages in any one course book by twenty and designed the board sheet problems to get through the entire book. Few middle school and high school classes ever make it through the entire book. Because of this you will find a lot of enrichment material in the sheets, particu
