October Math Portfolio Bundle
Using math portfolios s a wonderful to assess and measure growth. This packet provides students the opportunity to problem solve in a variety of strategies. They also use Marzano's rubric to self assess their ability to comprehend the problem This packet is seasonal and has harvest and Halloween themes. It can be used in conjunction with Number Talks. You may also choose to use them as a center or guided math activity.

Experience
I have been teaching for 19 years. I have taught K - 6th. I have also been a literacy specialist and a technology trainer in my former district. I have logged a ton of hours of staff development as well.
Teaching style
Every year is a new and completely different experience. While I teach the same standards, how I teach them entirely depends on my students. I believe that we are teaching children, not subjects.
Awards & shining teacher moments
I have been recognized by my district with 2 RAVE rewards that were recommended by both a parent and a student. I also have been Teacher of the Year where I got to be in the newspaper and have lunch with the mayor. In my last district, I was involved in a major county technology project (only 6 teachers were picked.) I got to have online field trips with a scientist in Galapagos and I was on TV. It was an amazing experience.

Additional biographical information
I am fortunate to have been married to my husband for 20 years. We have been blessed with three wonderful boys. My oldest and youngest have Asperger's syndrome which has completely changed my view of the world and how I teach.
