Description

3rd grade skills are used throughout the year when learning new concepts. These April themed centers will help your students continue to practice these concepts. Great for early finishers, review, test prep and so much more.

In this pack you will find 8 common core aligned math centers for students to practice previous taught concepts.

Included are:
Snail Subtraction Across Zeros: 3.NBT.A.2
Students will solve subtraction across zero problems and then have to find the snail with the correct difference to match the snail to it's subtraction problem.

Buggy Bugs: Elapsed Time: 3.MD.A.1
Students will identify the bug's start time and end time on an analog clock. Then record it on the buggy bugs recording sheet as the digital time. Finally students will find the elapsed time between both bugs.

Spring Monsters: Multiples of Ten: 3.NBT.A.3
Students will match the product monster to each multiplication equation. On the recording sheet, students are asked to put the multiple of ten answers in order from least to greatest.

It's Raining Fractions on a Number Line: 3.NF.A.1
Each raindrop has a fraction or whole number that needs to be placed on one of the 12 number lines. Some numbers lines need one fraction, some need three or some may need all of the raindrop fractions to complete. Students will complete a recording sheet after they have completed the number lines.

Multiplication Eggquations: 3.OA.A.4
Using their multiplication knowledge, students will place the eggs on to correctly complete the multiplication equations. When students are finished completing the "eggquations" they will complete the recording sheet that asks them to select 16 equations to complete as fact families.

Earth Day Graphing: 3.MD.B.3
Four data charts will be used to complete bar graphs and pictographs. Students will be able to select to use either a data chart on recycled cardboard and paper, recycled plastic, recycled glass and cans or compost foods. Using the data chart they will then create a bar graph and pictograph on the graph paper that is included. Finally students will answer questions on the recording sheets about the graphs they made using the Earth Day data.

Bunny Irregular Area: 3.MD.C.7.B
Help the bunnies find the area of their homes. Students will have to find out the irregular area of 12 bunnies homes. Once they find the area they will find the bunny with the correct area and place the bunny on top of the card. Students will then complete the recording sheet.

Tweet! Tweet! Two-Step Problem Solving: 3.OA.D.8
Students will need to decide which equations they will need to use to solve each of the 12 word problem task cards. Recording sheet is included.

I hope these math centers helped with review of 3rd grade math concepts in your classroom during the month of April. I use them in my classroom for early finishers and my students love them!

Tell and write time to the nearest minute and measure time intervals in minutes. Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of time intervals in minutes, e.g., by representing the problem on a number line diagram.
Draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories. Solve one- and two-step “how many more” and “how many less” problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs. For example, draw a bar graph in which each square in the bar graph might represent 5 pets.
Multiply side lengths to find areas of rectangles with whole-number side lengths in the context of solving real world and mathematical problems, and represent whole-number products as rectangular areas in mathematical reasoning.
