This First Responders PowerPoint Slideshow includes EMT, Fire Department, and police. It's perfect for teaching about the importance of first responders in your community on Patriot Day (September 11) or as a mini-lesson in any Social Studies unit about local government, public services, and public heroes.
The First Responders Slideshow Includes:
21 Slides in .ppsx format (non-editable PowerPoint)
5 Embedded writing and talking prompts
13 HD images of police, fire department, and EMT (Emergency Medical Transport)
5 Informational slides
2 Learning topic slides at beginning and closure of the slideshow
The First Responders slideshow lasts for 15-20 minutes as a mini-lesson or 35-50 minutes as a first responder full-lesson. For a full-lesson, we recommended using the prompts after each section of the slides for:
-- Turn and talk
-- 3-4 Minutes of writing
-- 2-3 of paired sharing of the written responses
-- The final prompt is an application level exit ticket that students can write on index cards, in a Google quiz, or in NearPod.
