Description

Making Metric Measurements: This lab bundle contains 4 short and simple labs that are used to teach or review basic pieces of laboratory equipment and the use of metric measurements in the science lab. These lab activities are appropriate for students who are just beginning to study the metric system and how to use basic pieces of lab equipment. The labs are perfect for students who need a review of these principles.

The labs are most appropriate for middle school students and physical science students. However, I often use these labs in my high school Biology and Chemistry classes as a "beginning of the year" review exercise. I have found that reviewing these skills at the beginning of the year pays off all year long.

The following labs are included in this lab bundle:

These lab activities are VERY basic. They are designed for reinforcement of basic lab skills, use of metric units and measurements, conversion between units using dimensional analysis, and graphing data obtained in a lab.

What is included in this resource?

  • Four labs designed to teach / review metric measurements and the use of basic pieces of lab equipment.
  • Editable Lab Handouts
  • Printable and Editable Student Worksheets on which students will record their data and answer questions / problems.
  • Printable and Editable Paper-Saving Worksheets (Students use their own notebook paper to complete their work.)
  • Teacher Guide and Answer Keys
