The students use pattern blocks to explore fractions.
I teach the students how to look for fractions with the pattern blocks. For example, the students put a trapezoid on top of a hexagon and realize that a trapezoid is 1/2 of a hexagon. Then I laminate the card and add it to the math centers and games for students to practice during small group math instruction.
These are some more task cards for math centers. I print them on white cardstock and laminate them. The card is smaller than an 8 ½ x 11in page so that it fits in a gallon storage bag for easy storage and organization.
