Keep reading interactive and fun with these fabulous, fun props/signs to use during Shared Reading.

Interactive Reading uses Props to Encourage Student Participation and Comprehension.

These signs and visuals will keep your younger students focused on the text and ready to actively participate in Shared Reading or Guided Reading!

These props are tried and true and have been used in my first grade class for years and the kiddos LOVE them and also enjoyed participating in our Shared Reading time!!

Here is what is Included:

★ A Prediction Wand prop with ideas for use.

★ A “I Wonder” speech bundle with suggestions for use for asking questions about what you might wonder.

★ A “My Thinking Cloud is...” prop with ideas for use to encourage students to explain their thinking.

★ A prop for teaching Cause and Effect with an example.

★ A pair of “glasses” to use for teaching Visualizing when reading a story.

Ideas for Use:

★ Use during Shared reading to encourage and model use of reading comprehension strategies.

★ Use during Guided Reading to support reading comprehension.

★ Children can use the props during Independent or shared reading with Big books or small books.

★ For teaching reading strategies to English Language Learners or Special education students.

★ While reading, you can also give each child a different part to play: The prediction Maker and they have the wand, The visualizer with the fake glasses or a pair of dollar store glasses, the Thinker, etc.

Later you will see students using the clouds on their own while partner reading etc. It has always been my philosophy to make learning fun, so that each child can reach their potential and be their best self!
