Use the book Chester Raccoon and the Big Bad Bully By: Audrey Penn to teach students how to handle a bully. Chester Raccoon and his friends are scared of a bully, and do not want to go to school.
This book is a great example for students to see how it feels to be bullied and also how to talk to a bully. Students will use a story map to write down characters and setting, problem and solution. I have two different story maps included, one with lines and one without.

How to Treat Classroom Library Books
Mr. Wiggle's Book, by Paula Craig and Carol Thompson, is the perfect book to teach students how to treat books in the classroom. Students fall in love with Mr. Wiggles and they enjoy making him happy by reading books correctly.
Students will learn how to treat books and will make a bookmark as a reminder. They also can write a letter to Mr. Wiggles telling him all the ways they respect their books.

Adjectives in Writing Bear Snores On
Using the book Bear Snores On, by Karma Wilson, I have provided a scripted lesson plan on using adjectives in writing. This lesson plan is for 5 days. I taught this book after students understood adjectives, but they were not applying them to their writing. They would just write their paragraph but would not describe anything. When I taught this lesson my students knew how to write a five sentence paragraph.
This book is a great example of how to use descriptive words.

Experience
I have been teaching primary grade levels for 14 years.
Teaching style
I differentiate my instruction for every lesson in my classroom. I teach most lessons in a small group format so that students have instruction at their exact level. I also love writing my lessons to be hands-on, student-directed, engaging, and tons multiple response strategies.
