About the store
Hi! I'm Jackie, from ROOM 213. My resources are designed to keep secondary English students engaged in meaningful and rigorous work. Each one is organized, easy to use, and created to take students through a process-based approach that often includes collaboration and movement. I believe in showing students how to learn, rather than just what to learn, so I focus on creating engaging material that fosters critical thinking and love of reading & writing. Most importantly, I'm a learner too. I spend a lot of time trying to understand how students learn best, and am constantly revamping my lessons to meet their needs. I taught high school English for thirty years, and loved every one of them. My resources reflect what I learned about keeping students actively engaged and feeling like they know how to be successful. I always taught a broad range of students, from those in the non-academic stream to those in the International Baccalaureate program, so I'm aware of what it takes to keep all students engaged. Now, I'm teaching and coaching pre-service teachers at our local university. I love being in classrooms with them as I help them on their teaching journey. Any questions?
