Ants on a Log Simple Recipe w/ Quiz & Writing for Different Purposes
After doing one too many test prep pages that had the students read (but not actually make) recipes, I decided to do a recipe as a class. This super simple recipe gets students excited while reading, writing and eating vegetables! The quiz mirrors the types of questions my students were being asked in SAT test-prep packets. The 5 writing activities have students write to inform, persuade, and entertain.

Writing to Inform, Persuade & Entertain - Using Recipes
Students will make a class recipe and use it to do various short writing pieces (informative paragraph, persuasive paragraph, realistic fiction story, make-believe story, and advertisement). They will then pick their own recipe and do the same types of writing for their own recipe.
Objectives and Skills:
