Each year when it's time to teach properties of matter, I pull out this activity to introduce the concept of properties of matter. It's a good hands-on lesson for all types of learners: • Visual because the students actually "see" the box and its contents. • Tactile-Kinesthetic because the students hold the box and feel the items inside. • Auditory because the students can shake the boxes and hear the sounds of the items. Students make "property boxes" and place item inside for the other
