Addition and Subtraction QR Code Scavenger Hunt

In this QR scavenger hunt, students use a smartphone or tablet to scan QR codes. When they scan a code they will hear a mathematical word problem (addition or subtraction) read to them. They have to solve and record their answer before moving on to the next code.

Copy the pages on cardstock or laminate and use for a variety of activities. Students take turns coming up to the front of the room to form addition sentences. I added the 10 frames to make a connection to numbers and counting. The possibilities for using these numbers are endless and the children love the interaction.

I use this PowerPoint daily in my classroom for fact practice. I simply start the slideshow when kids are coming in from specials, lunch, or recess so that there is no wasted time and a gain in some very essential learning time. You can change the timings as the year goes on and students become more fluent in their facts.
