This is a whole unit I taught on division. I noticed my students were getting hung up on the languge of math, so I explicitly taught it and assessed it, along with labelling the division problems (standard algorithm) and giving word problems. The review pages are meant to be just like the test (only with different numbers) so that when the students take the exam, they're only being tested on the concepts. They should be familiar with the way the questions are worded. This worked well for my stud

Divisibilty Quiz for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, and 10

This is a Word document that allows students to demonstrate their understanding of divisibilty rules. Students are given numbers and must determine whether they are divisible by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, and/or 10. I usually give this assessment after my divisibility rules lesson and playing divisibility jeopardy. I have both of these available on here as well.

Weekly math quizzes are a staple in my classroom. This assessment is meant to be a quick 10 - 15 minute assignment that assesses what was taught that week. My students complete these assignments on a weekly basis at the end of our math block, typically on Fridays. I also use this resource to review materials taught earlier in the school year. The questions are primarily level 1 and level 2 DOK questions. Money is not a requirement for first grade in common core. However, in my county, we are re

This directly matches the Virginia 3rd grade SOL curriculum for representing multiplication and division using area, set, and number line models. It also incorporates problems where students either have to create or solve problems that involve multiplication of two whole numbers where one factor is 99 o

Math Angles Board Game Instructions (and Rubric/Turn-In Checklist!)

Hi! I'm Abby. I've been a teacher for 8 years and I was recently looking for a final project where my students use their knowledge of angle types and measurements. My students love using their protractors and this was a fun, creative spin to do instead of a final formative assessment.Instead of finding a project, I made my own! The objective of this project is for students to work with a partner to draw angles, label them, design and build a creative board game using their knowledge of angle typ
