TTQ / Do Now List

At the beginning of every unit students will get a new TTQ sheet that I photocopy in a bright color. This is where students will record their Do Now at the beginning of class and will be collected at the end of each unit. TTQ stands for Today's Thinking Question and while students are reviewing and previewing information I can be taking care of paperwork / attendance and other classroom logistics. It is also great for keeping track of student learning as a formative assessment.

These are the data collection sheets that I use on a weekly basis in my classroom during small groups. Keep in mind this is the paid version, so you will be able to go in and type your goals and comments! These sheets have been a game changer for me! I used to collect IEP data here and there whenever I had extra time, but over the last two years I have committed to a block of time everyday for what my class calls "IEP Small Groups". Students rotate through four stations in groups of two (Math, W

This is a sign-up sheet I keep on a clipboard near my classroom door (mine is actually stuck to my wall using heavy duty Velcro). Students can sign up for tutoring, one-on-one conferences, and/or make-up quizzes and tests using this sheet. I can check it each day before I leave school to know who I need to meet with the next day. This is part of my larger, $5 Organization Bundle, which includes: a tardy log ($1), two parent contact logs ($1), an open house sign-in (freebie), a make-up work we

This is a sheet that you can give to students when they do not complete their homework. It allows the student to reflect on why they did not do the assignment, what they will do next time and allows them to work on something while other students are turning in their work or going over the answers. It has drastically increased the amount of completed homework in my 6th grade classroom. I keep them on file to show parents later on, to make them aware that their student knows how much they are effe

Weekly Do Now / Jumpstart / Bell Ringer Sheet

Whatever you call it, a Do Now or Jumpstart has become a widely used method to start class. When I first started using one, I wasted a significant amount of paper trying to figure out a method that would work for my students and me. Eventually in order to increase the participation and value of our Do Now and to conserve paper, my classroom switched to a Weekly Do Now sheet. Students pick this up on their way into class on the first day of the week and then keep the same one until I give it
