Problem Solving Document for teachers and a blank for students

This walks students through what the operations do in math, not using code words. My students use this when solving word problems. We go through this as we introduce the operations in word problems. We fill out an anchor chart and we spend a lot of time discussing what the operations mean. I have a blank copy for the students and have included a copy filled out for you to adjust as needed. I put the blank copy in students journal and as we fill out the anchor chart, they fill out each opera

Fast Fact Record

Having students work on fast facts but not really tracking their own progress? This would be a great resource for your students. This is a word document set up for a 9 week quarter of tracking student progress. It can be changed to fit your classroom as you see fit. At the end of each week, students will find their weekly average. At the end of the 9 weeks students will then create a bar graph charting their progress as a visual. I use a money based behavior system in my classroom and it works wonderfully. The money I created is called "Kinzinger Kash", but the document can easily be edited to match your own name. The money also includes a palm tree to match my beach themed classroom, but you can change that to your liking as well. I also attached how my students use their money to buy rewards. They can spend their money at the end of each week, or choose to save up for a larger prize. I hope you enjoy this! Happy te

It doesn't solve all those issues, but it sure helped last year! I left it in Word so that you can modify it to fit your needs! It's difficult to teach students higher level math when they don't know their basic facts. How can you hold kids accountable and motivate them to practice their math facts? Make it more visual by having them graph their success! We use this graph after students take their weekly 2 minute timed test on math facts. Everyone gets the same test (use any type with 100 problems). We correct using the overhead/projector. Students use this graph (kept in their binder or pasted into unused pages of their
