Function Tables (Input/Output Tables)

Set the Rule and then complete the Input/ Output Table. It can be used for addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division. This can be used with Input/ Output task cards or you can partly fill in the form your self to have the students figure out the rule and the missing numbers. Set a rule, and have the students complete the table with their choice of numbers. There are so many ways it can be adapted to meet the needs of your students. Enjoy!

It's difficult to teach students higher level math when they don't know their basic facts. How can you hold kids accountable and motivate them to practice their math facts? Make it more visual by having them graph their success! We use this graph after students take their weekly 2 minute timed test on math facts. Everyone gets the same test (use any type with 100 problems). We correct using the overhead/projector. Students use this graph (kept in their binder or pasted into unused pages of their

Multiplication and Division are the most prominent skills in 3rd Grade math. These timed test are a great way for students to learn their facts. I start by doing the multiplication timed test ( which are easy to find online.) When students have completed through their 12's, they begin on their division facts. These test are not as easy to find online. That is why I created these. I give students 1 minute to complete each 16 question test. MCC3.OA.7

I use this individual tracker to measure 5th grade students' multiplication fluency. Instead of recording the grades in the gradebook, I have students fill in their scores on this sheet each time they are assessed, approximately every 2 weeks. Students are motivated when they improve their scores and continue to review their multiplication facts (0-12). If a student's score drops,he/she is reminded to have a growth mindset and strive to improve on the next assessment.

This is a word document set up for a 9 week quarter of tracking student progress. It can be changed to fit your classroom as you see fit.
