This rubric gives you a simple, yet precise way to assess your recorder students. It has seven areas to assess including pitch, rhythm, intonation, articulation, posture, fingering and style. It also allows you to mark whether the student received a recorder karate belt and which color they received. I typically don't print this out, but input everything on the computer. This filming code of conduct I give to my students on their first lesson for the year. We read it together and then the students sign it. This is then kept in the front of their Media file to refer back to if/when they have questions or are breaking a rule. A copy of this is also emailed home to all parents.

This is a seating chart that can also be used to take a weekly content grade, behavior grade or even just attendance. It is organized into 9 weeks. You can specify the skill that was tested for each of the nine weeks, or even use the key to make a grading code that corresponds to certain behaviors.
