This project has students collecting class data and displaying it in multiple ways, showing how those ways are connected. It helps them work with a Venn Diagram to represent "AND" from the cells in a 2-way Table and shows those cells in a Tree too. Students create the different types of questions that will be on the assessment: basic, "and", "or", "given" and independent. My "Sample" had my tree symbolically mislabeld (the M should be P(MlF) or P(MlF') etc and I would have liked all the "And"s l

This worksheet is designed to replace a lecture on transformations of quadratic functions. I start out class with a 15-minute "mini-lesson," giving my students some basic examples of what today's lesson will be about. I have found it incredibly helpful to project a graph on my screen using desmos.com, which has the link below: https://www.desmos.com/ Click on the large, red "launch calculator" button; Type in the equation of any graph you want. If you type in y=a(x-h)^2+k, it will ask you i

This is a quiz covering the basic trigonometric functions using SOH-CAH-TOA and the special right triangle formulas to fill in the trig table. There are also two problems for students to graph an angle, one is in radians and the other is in degrees. This could be used in a Geometry class, or for a review before starting trigonometry in a PreCal class. I have also included a key with the answers. Students are expected to write these formulas without a calculator.

Discover trigonometric functions through objects around our lives. Students will take pictures of objects where they can model using the basic trigonometric functions and their transformations. The document is editable. The idea is to assign students in groups and work on a photo project together. They are supposed to observe trigonometric functions in real life, take pictures, and create a function that models the real object. Teachers should encourage students to incorporate transformation o

It is a three-page worksheet, but the fourth page is a trigonometric ratios chart, which I recommend you photocopy on a separate, colorful sheet of paper for each student, as it comes in handy when they are both looking up trigonometric ratios, as well as when they are trying to do inverse trigonometric functions. I teach both Algebra 1 and Geometry, and I frequently wish that my Algebra 1 students had more familiarity with basic geometric concepts, such as knowing that the three interior angles of a triangle add up to 180; that vertical angles are congruent, and so forth. This worksheet is intended for Algebra 1 students to give them exactly that practice. They basically set up equations and solve them. The hope is that when they get to Geometry, they are better-prepared to handle these concepts algeb

They begin by completing problem number 1 and then find the answer in another box. That problem becomes number 2. If the circuit is completed correctly, then it will lead them back to number one. An answer key is not included since the answers are provided. You just have to find the right order.
