Experience

I love that they have their favorite subjects, and I love that I get to open a new world of favorites to them as well. Teaching style

Four words: Cooperative and Active Learning. Finding the balance in a classroom can be difficult, but I believe that there is a place for everything. Much learning can be done when students get a chance to move around and bounce ideas off with a partner. Students work in groups, partners, trios, (pretty much any group size) daily. I also believe that there must be a time for individual work. The key is the balance, and that is an ongoing, daily challenge. :)

My own education history

I graduated with a BS in Elementary Education. I began my collegiate studies in the mathematics field, preparing for a math or physics education degree. I love math, and my students have grown to enjoy it as well! I have completed my arts integration endorsement, and I'm constantly amazed by how much it makes students LOVE learning! I recently had a student tell me he'd start coming in on Saturdays if I taught an art class. #teacherwin
