Encourage your students to fully support their thesis argument. If any evidence is missing, their table will not stand up! I've used this to teach thesis statements in historical writing as well as English class. The 3D manipulative and visual helps the concept stick in students' brains!

These are five thank you note templates I made for my son to fill in after his dinosaur birthday party. They gave him practice writing thank you notes without ALL the labor-intensive writing. Each has a dinosaur picture on the left side and a fill-in-the-blank thank you note on the right - fold them in half and you have a thank you card!

I believe that learning should be engaging - everyone has an innate desire to learn, even if school sometimes suppresses it. If we can make learning transparent and engaging, all learners can be successful!

Additional biographical information
While I continue to work with teachers and students in the upper grades, which I love, I also do a lot of work with my 5-year-old son at home to support his areas of interest and fan his natural spark of curiosity. So I'll share things I create from both areas!
