This is a tool that students can use to self assess their work habits and learning skills. It is written is student friendly language. The self assessment is of six different learning skills: Responsibility, Organization, Independent Work, Collaboration, Initiative, and Self-Regulation. The rubric may be used small portions at a time where students select one learning skill to reflect upon at a time. This rubric may also be used in Parent-Teacher or Student Led conferences.

Here is a fun way to teach your students how to write a sentence! You can do as a class, small group, literacy center, or independent work. One lesson or several lessons. Great for the beginning of the year - two 81/2 x 11 sheets that can be photocopied to make an 11 x 17 size poster. The sheet has six boxes, with the following instructions at the top"This page is a way for your classmates and teacher to get to know you better. The idea is that you fill in ALL the space in each section with whatever information you think is important about you. You can write, draw, paste pictures, write poems, or whatever else you can think of. Be creative!"
