One of my favorite self-assessments for students is to have them tell me what their "muddy areas" are. What areas are confusing about the current lesson or unit.
With the muddy area poster, it's a quick, fun and easy way to have students let you know what areas they find confusing.
Hang this poster on the door or on the wall near the door and allow students to jot down the things that confuse them on a sticky note.

Self- Assess Student Table Tent Cards
These table tents are meant for students to use to self-assess themselves during independent work time. These table tents are three sided and half-size paper. Print on card stock to last longer. Each page prints two table tents or sets of cards.
After printing, cut between the two sets of cards. Then fold on the dotted lines and tape to secure.
Students flip these table tents to indicate how they are feeling regarding their work. They are red, yellow and green for even the youngest learners

Student table tents for quick, formative assessments.

Wife of 1, Mother of 4, Teacher of MANY.
As a teacher in a low budget (who isn't now a days?), high needs school, I needed to find secondary (high school and middle school) resources to supplement. I was tired of "making do" and tweaking designed meant for younger students or other subjects.
So, I began making my own resources for my students. Now I'm sharing some of those with you. Please be patient as I fill my store. My family and students still need me as well.
