Divide your class into teams of 3-4. Each team should have a whiteboard, marker, and eraser.
Students will compete to earn plastic cups (the cheapest ones work best I usually use the 8 oz
size.) At the end of Round 1 (FIVE QUESTIONS), students will build a tower using the cups they
have earned. The goal is to have the tallest tower at the end of the game. Have all of the groups
build their tower in a central location, like on a bookshelf. All of these towers will become

This is a small group game -- works best for 3 - 5 students per game area. Students compete to earn different colored poker chips by completing math cards. This game focuses on place value. Student practice reading, writing, comparing, rounding, and ordering numbers up to the hundred thousands place.
This is a fast-paced money review game appropriate for small groups of 3rd - 5th grade students. Students practice counting, adding, subtracting, comparing, and giving change.
Math Tic - Tac - Toe
Set 9 players up to be the “stars” of the game. These students will sit in 3 rows of 3 to simulate a tic tac toe grid. I usually have the back row sit on stools, middle row sits in chairs, first row sits on floor or in beanbags. This way the students can see the actual grid in front of them.
