I like to use the same read aloud to cover many different comprehension skills. This allows the student to become familiar with the story. Therefore they are spending less time trying to remember what happened in the story and more time learning/ using the comprehension skill. I also included a short story about another dog with a problem and solution worksheet that students can complete independently. This allows the teacher to work with the students for the Dog Breath Problem and Solution an

This is a visual I use with my kids. Using a paperclip or clothespin put where the student's engine level is. When the student is elevating or too low move the paperclip to show this. I also wrote what it looks like when your engine is too high, just right, or too low. You can print out the sheet cut it out and then glue the two sides together. Hope you enjoy this freebie! Teaching style

I want the students to have the supports necessary to be successful regardless of their ability level and learning style. It is important to have a systematic approach to introducing new concepts, especially as they become more difficult. It's important to incorporate technology and allow for student voice and choice as they work through a unit. I have modified many math, reading, and science concepts for upper elementary especially. I also have a passion for making data easier to take and creating probes that you can use to track IEP goals.
