This is Not My Hat & I Want My Hat Back Apology Games

These games were inspired by Jon Klassen's books, This is Not my Hat & I Want My Hat Back. Both books are great for discussing important topics, such as, trust, revenge, morals, fairness, stealing, etc. Pre-K, Kindy and even 1st graders have been know to have "sticky fingers". I've included a few games, ideas and a worksheet to work on apologies, description, and ownership. Children practicing apologies makes it easier for them when a situation actually arises and they need to apologize.

The story is the same concept as Seven Blind Mice except it’s with ants and “something” has fallen on their ant pile. While the story is written, the object has yet to be decided, this is where the students help finish writing the story. The teacher should get one secret object that will fall on the ant pile. Food can be funny, for example, a hamburger or candy (even the plastic type food works fine). The kids think it’s hilarious. The students and the teachers work together to finish the

Winter Bingo Game instructions and ideas for different ages. 2. Winter Game Board (large board that can be printed on A3 or A4 sized paper). There are many ways to use this in your classroom and here are a few ideas how I have used it before. 1. The student picks a word for each letter.
