UPDATED 5/1/2020: Now includes link to Google Slides for digital use. I completely swoon over anchor charts I see teachers have in their classroom. It's like teacher artwork - haha, but they just aren't practical in my learning support classroom. Sure, I leave up charts and posters that benefit, in some way or another, all students who come to my learning support classroom, but sometimes I need for each of my students to have what anchor charts offer. I Know the Time - Clock Manipulative/Telling Time (Math)

Every year when I introduce - or even re-teach - 'telling time' to my special education students, it always seems to be a bit of a struggle at first. We can tell what minute it is, but when we are in between hours we get confused. With my "I Know the Time" clock manipulative I have colored coded each hour, to make for better understanding as to where the 'hour hand' is pointing. Example: The 1 on the clock is colored pink. So the 1st hour, or the space between the 1 and the 2, is also color

All About Percents | Flip Book (Math)

Learning about percents can be confusing. Multiply this... Divide that... Change this to a decimal... etc... etc. SO much to remember! With all of that in mind, I created "All About Percents" flip book as a tool both my learning support students and regular education students use in my inclusion math classes, during the ever painful chapter on percents. There are 8 different pages included in this flip book that cover the following topics: - WHAT IS A PERCENT - PERCENT OF A NUMBER - A PERCENT

Place Value Flip Book | Whole Numbers

Place Value - the students need to know it, but boy can it be tough for my learning support students to not only grasp, but also remember year to year. My students are middle and high school age. I don't hang a place value sign on my wall, like I once did when I taught in the elementary. I did want to provide that to them again, but in a slightly different form. My Place Value Flip Book is perfect for all grades! It takes the place of the place value chart I once had displayed. However, this f

My students LOVE playing with money. Rolling to $1.00 is an easily adapted game that reinforces money skills that have already been taught. Students will also need to know the value of each coin, as well as be able to add coin amounts totaling up to $1.00. When we are practicing our money skills in the classroom, my students ALWAYS ask to play this game at the end. The rules are simple and provided for y
