Every year when I introduce - or even re-teach - 'telling time' to my special education students, it always seems to be a bit of a struggle at first. We can tell what minute it is, but when we are in between hours we get confused. With my "I Know the Time" clock manipulative I have colored coded each hour, to make for better understanding as to where the 'hour hand' is pointing. Example: The 1 on the clock is colored pink. Adding and subtracting positive and negative integers can be a difficult concept to grasp at first. I love using my Positive and Negative Squares with my learning support students.
