This is a great math mat for color sorting. I use with M & M's but you can use pom pom's or other color sorting manipulatives. Works great with the FUN Size packs of M & M's as an individual activity. The children sort the colors onto the matching color animals. Then they can count how many of each color and write the number on the half sheet recording paper. Super easy, super fun way to learn about colors and numbers. The best part is eating the sweet snack at the end. ;)

This is a great product to supplement your hands on Math Learning Program. I started using these as a supplement to the HWT/LWT program. I have been using HWT/LWT for at least 20 years. I just needed a little something more for my Pre-K class, since not all students attend class every day. I wanted something hands on in worksheet format that differs a little everyday. The students can use a variety of materials to build/create the numbers and gain number sense. They will trace a few numbers, cou

I use these math mats with the manipulatives shown below. If you do not have them I have included a black and white clip art of family and pets if you choose to use the mats with paper manipulatives. You will need to print the clips on colored card stock to match the color houses. I give the students a small bowl of the family counters and have them sort them by matching the color counters to the color houses. When they match all the counters they have, I have them count and write the number on

You will need to purchase the Eureka Animal Counters you can find them on Amazon.com for $10.99 for 100 counters. It’s a pretty good deal considering how expensive counting manipulatives seem to be these days. I use them in the math center, four students at a time. I make 4 copies of each of the math mat graphing pages. I like to use card stock, or put them in a sheet protector. I give each child a small bowl full of the counters and ask them to sort them by: color or animal, then count ho
