This was created as an assignment for my 4th graders. Read the story: The Snow Globe Family by Jane O' Connor to introduce the idea of what it's like to live in a snow globe, then have your students write a fantasy story about what it would be like to be trapped in a snow globe. (Instant problem and solution for those kiddos that have a hard time coming up with ideas to write about) This pack includes: *assignment page *unlined-writing paper w/title on it (for those who want their students to
Do your students and kiddos need extra cutting practice? Do their scissor skills need to be sharpened? (pun intended) ; ) I teach 4th grade, and my students STILL need cutting practice. I created this packet of cutting practice for my classroom, and decided to add other pages so that even the littles (K-1 students) can get in on the fun! The packet starts out easy---simple cutting lines, and gets more difficult so that even the upper graders can get some cutting practice. Interactive Notebooks a
What’s a BragMark?
It's a brag tag in bookmark form! And it’s all the rage in my classroom!
Brag Tags are very popular in classrooms across the country. Kids earn them for all kinds of reasons, and because there’s so many styles, they love to collect them---on a ball-chain necklace or on a silver clip-ring (which is how my students store their Brag Tags and BragMarks.)
For some reason, the majority of my class just wasn’t too keen on doing their silen
Bragmarks are a bit of a hybrid—a cross between a Brag Tag and a bookmark.
I use them with my students to motivate them to READ READ READ and to take AR tests.
A few times a week, I go onto Accelerated Reader and check all the AR tests my students have taken. If someone has taken and passed a test with an 80% score or higher, I give them a Bragmark. The kids hole-punch them in the corner and attach them to a little silver binder ring, which also hold all of their brag tags.

Do you use brag tags in your classroom?
Do you want to reward your students for taking and passing AR tests?
I created these AR brag tags, with a winter theme, for my students as a reward for passing AR tests. They LOVE them, and if I haven't passed them out for a few days, I'm reminded 34 separate times throughout the day. ; )
Try them out! Hopefully your students will love (and beg for) them as much as mine do.
I used this with my class when we wrote a persuasive letter. After reading the book "The Spider and the Fly", the kids were given the assignment to write a letter to humans from the point of view of the spider, to persuade them that spiders aren't so bad after all.

This narrative writing assignment is titled "I Turned into a Snowman." Students write a fantasy story about how they turned into a snowman and back again. My own students LOVED this assignment and had a great time tapping in to their creativity.
Enjoy!
I use this as the start of every reading selection. My class writes the focus comprehension skill, genre, etc. I copy the story structure page on the back, and we fill out after we've read our story.

Have some BEWITCHING fun with the kids on Halloween with this fun activity. Make a WITCHES’ BREW with your students!
This packet includes both a color and black and white version of the recipe paper.
I included links to resources you can also download for free that has even more activities you can use with the WITCHES’ BREW.
Have you heard of Brag Tags?
You know, those awesome tags that are given out to students for good behavior. Kids collect them on b all-chain necklaces or those silver "o" rings that click and lock.
Well, in the same spirit of Brag Tags, these are BragMarks---bookmarks given to students who have completed reading a book and taken an AR test.
I use these with my class to motivate them to read and take AR tests. Since implementing them into my classroom, my kids are reading machines! And they

I use this to introduce new vocabulary words to my students from our reading selection. The circle is a space for them to illustrate the sentence they create with the new vocab word.
Use this to keep your students accountable with their free time reading or Accelerated Reader books.
*R=currently reading
*F=finished book
*Q=Quit book
Use with my BragMarks to reward students who have taken Accelerated Reader (AR) tests
I used this to make goody bags to my students on Halloween.
I bought a huge container of cheese balls, filled up clear treat bags, and stapled the topper to the top of the folded baggie.
I left extra blank space on top of each label so that you can fold it over the top of the folded baggie before you staple.
