Directions are on two different levels and allow children the practice of using both sides of a rule and measuring to the nearest inch, 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch. Students will measure and practice measurement vocabulary (foot, inch, centimeter, decimeter, diameter, radius, etc.).

This is a culminating or introductory project for grades 3-6 when studying the United States. Changes can be made on the original hand out depending on what your grade level is studying. Students use the shapes of states in a particular region to build a monster for that region.
