We've used this project many times in our 12th grade Economics courses. It is part of a series of projects I call "What Things Cost". This project asks the students to shop for a pet. All shopping and research is done online. The entire project can be done in a computer lab in one 50 minute class period - or as a homework activity. Experience

Teaching style

I believe my teaching style would be described as practical and applicable. I do my best to make my Social Science lessons applicable to my student's lives. We are constantly working to take course concepts outside of our classroom - and apply them to current events and my student's daily experiences. If this is not done - all we have are "words on the page". My goal is to make our core concepts and my lessons relevant to their life experiences. I believe the lessons that I've created will show how we've been able to accomplish this goal.
