Process Skills Practice: Students will practice identifying observations, inferences, and predictions. This is a double sided worksheet, that should be cut in half. Two worksheets per 1 page.

Students will read 4 experiments, graph the data in a table, and then construct a line or bar graph.

Students will fill in a short notes section giving them a background on measurements and the SI system. Then, students will fill in a graphic organizer on basic measurements. Finally, on the second page students will practice with SI units.

This unit covers the water cycle, carbon cycle, and nitrogen cycle as well as how energy flows through an ecosystem. We used this review before the unit test.

Students will practice the steps of the scientific method by conducting an experiment testing how fast different liquids will dissolve a sugar cube. Students will test water, coke, and nail polish remover. Students will fill out a chart to record their data and answer analysis questions.

In this unit, students travel around the world to master polynomials. Students begin in Anchorage, Alaska where they practice identifying and simplifying like terms. After checking their answers, they are given a new boarding pass to travel to Nevada and then Brazil to practice multiplying polynomials using the FOIL method. Using process skills at home! In this activity, students will observe a pet or an animal that visits their yard at home. Students will make qualitative and quantitative observations about the animal, make inferences, and make predictions on how it will behave. This is a half sheet worksheet for students, so there are 2 copies per page. Great homework practice!

This lab is great for your kinesthetic learners! Let your students pick which exercise to perform, like jumping jacks, high knees, or running in place. Students will record their heart rate after each round. After students record their data, they answer analysis questions and practice graphing their data.

For this lab, I break the class into two groups. One group is working with microscopes and practicing making wet mount slides. The other group is looking at human cheek cells under a TV flex-cam. If you do not have that type of microscope, but you have a document camera, I have also had success positioning the document camera into the eye piece of a regular microscope and projecting the image onto the board. Students will read 4 experiments and identify the independent variable and dependent variable. Then, students will create a hypothesis for each experiment in the "If...then..." format.
