After reading Late for School by: Steve Martin, we discussed what we would feel like if we were late for school. We talked about expressing how we would feel, look, think, what we would do. We talked about details, this helps people picture just what we would feeling like, look like, think like...etc. I modeled showing details if I was late for school. This is a great place value practice. I laminated mine so that students could write and erase problems with their dry erase markers. They make up the numbers with the dice as they roll them and then add them together. My students loved adding while rolling dice.

The animals included are koalas, seals, and penguins, but there are extra worksheets for students to write about different animals. Teaching style

My teacher style is to be open with my students. I love to relate to my students so I make it a point to talk about my experiences as I teach so that we can make connections and they remain focused and interested. I have found that becoming friends with my students creates a healthy relationship and my students want to learn and please. This makes them great students and they grow so quickly.

I graduated with my Bachelor of Science and Early Childhood Education degree from North Georgia University with honors. I also graduated with a Masters in Early Childhood Education. I have endorsements and am certified to teach in Gifted, English Language Learners, and Reading.

Additional biographical information

I have been married for two years and we just had our first baby. I am obsessed with my husband and little baby. My best friends are my sisters, parents, and sister-in law. My favorite past time and happy place are afternoons with family watching my nephews play outside. If there is music and watermelon involved, it's a plus.
