About the store
I've worked in a variety of settings at a variety of grade levels. I started my career in preschool, where I worked for six years. I also taught 5th grade in an upper-middle class suburban community as well as an urban charter school that served a Muslim population. Since then, I have been in my current district, Ann Arbor. Here I taught 1st grade and 4th grade for 14 years before transitioning into a math coach position.
For 7 years, I also worked for The Princeton Review, a test preparation company. For The Princeton Review, I taught and tutored for the ACT, SAT, GMAT, GRE, and MCAT verbal tests. I trained prospective teachers for the ACT and GMAT. I also wrote content for their ACT, Early Edge, and GMAT materials.

Fraction Flip Book - Common Core Aligned
This set includes two flip books - a scaffolded one and an open-ended one. Both flip books include a fraction/decimal/percent equivalency table as well as fraction strips/bars that are useful for comparing fractional amounts and finding equivalent fractions.
The fractions on each flip book include 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6, 1/7, 1/8, 1/9, 1/10, and 1/12. Each page is 1/2 inch longer than the one before it, so when they are stapled/glued together, students can see the fraction strips of each. The

Teaching style
My focus is on small-group instruction with flexible groupings based on data. I try to incorporate authentic learning experiences and inquiry-based investigations.
My own education history
I attended undergraduate and graduate school at Michigan State University. My graduate degree is in Teaching and Curriculum with a concentration in instructional technology.
I have been through Math Recovery training for: AVMR 1, AVMR 2, Fractions, MRSp1 (Math Recovery Specialist 1).
