This document includes two different beginning, middle, end graphic organizers. The first beginning, middle, end organizer features a description of which key elements (character, setting, problem, and solution) student's should look for in the beginning, middle, and end of a story. The second organizer shows students that the middle is where the plot commonly occurs. Both organizers are great resource to use when heading towards teaching retell.

After teaching word problems for a couple of years, I noticed that students see word problems as a very abstract process. When given a word problem, students often choose an operation and solve. This graphic organizer is a great tool to get students organizing their ideas before asking them to formulate a paragraph. The descriptive writing organizer has students use their senses to come up with 'juicy adjectives' to help describe the item they are writing about. After the organizer is complete, student take their 'juicy adjectives' and make them into complete sentences.
