This class activity utilizes the census records and a graphing calculator's capability to plot and analyze data points. It can be used for any state and can be adapted for most graphing calculators. This activity was originally written for a TI-82 or 83 calculator. Since it is state specific, no key is included.

This 2-page handout explains how to solve and graph a compound inequality. Included are definitions for strict and weak inequalities along with quick ways to check the answer using common sense methods. For example, covering the x and reading the resulting sentence to see if the statement is true. A good quick explanation for students in the classroom or in home study of this concept.
