Students will be engage in learning covering expectations in Language, Drama, and Art. Over the course
What makes a hero a hero? How do we as individuals define heroism in others and in ourselves. How do the essential characteristics of a Hero lead to Heroic action? All critical questions that students will have the opportunity to explore in some way through this inquiry unit.
Students will have the opportunity to create their own characters before analyzing and sharing their inferences about heroism that exists within their lived experience!

This was designed as both a personal inquiry and visual arts learning tasks. Students are guided to reflect on how they self identify, and then to use elements of Line, Color, and Space to design and produce a masks that visually represents that identity.
A graphic organizer and student work samples are provide in addition to assessment success criteria that can all support students in the development of their own Personal Identity Mask.
