I have been teaching in schools with students ranging in grades from pre-k up through high school. Within those schools, I have taught physical education and health while creating cross-curricular activities with science, English and math. Fitness Scavenger Hunt

These sheets can be cut up and scattered around for students to find. Working with partners, students will read a determine what activity is being asked from the riddle. While students are moving from clue to clue, they are given different locomotor skills to preform. This can lead to a discussion on what muscles are being used and which activities caused students to use more energy or increase heart rate.

This is an activity that can be used as a warm up activity or a complete lesson. The students will work through solving the riddles that lead to a type of movement. They are to complete the movement, write the movement and circle which fitness component that it is!

This circut can be used within a fitness unit or as a stand alone activity. Have the students get into small groups and post the sheets around the space. Each station has an extra challenge that is a little bit harder. There are various skills within the activity such as volleyball bump/set and basketball dribbling intertwined with fitness skills.

This is an activity that can be used as homework within any unit to emphasize proper sportsmanship and behavior within physical education. Students are to find a book or article that highlights good citizenship and character. They will read the book/article and answer the questions about a character within the reading. The students will then create a drawing or collage highlighting the trait shown within the reading.
