I have been teaching in schools with students ranging in grades from pre-k up through high school. Within those schools, I have taught physical education and health while creating cross-curricular activities with science, English and math. Fitness Scavenger Hunt

These sheets can be cut up and scattered around for students to find. Working with partners, students will read a determine what activity is being asked from the riddle. While students are moving from clue to clue, they are given different locomotor skills to preform. This can lead to a discussion on what muscles are being used and which activities caused students to use more energy or increase heart rate.

STEM Soccer

Students are working in groups to determine what happens to a soccer ball when kicked on different surfaces. Students are given the worksheet, pencil and a soccer with their partner. Students are then going to find different surfaces to perform the activities. They then describe what happens to the ball along the different surfaces. This is great as a cross-curricular assignment with Newton's laws of motion within a science class.

In small groups, students will be able to work through various skills that can be attained within a basketball unit. Each sheet can be put up around the gym in a circuit. The students will move around the circuit with their groups keeping score at each station. At the end , the class can determine who got the most points if needed. This is can be used as a culminating activity or at the beginning and end of the unit to see growth.
