A fun variation of the getting to know you game, where you step across the line if the speaker says something that pertains to you. This is a predictable routine for students that can gives all students a chance to share about their exciting time away from school in a structured and safe way. Students are able to chat with peers (which they’ve been dying to do!) and are empowered that they have something to talk about, as all they have to do is step forward if something applies to them instead

For that reason, it's always bothered me to have class jobs like "door holder" or "substitute" - because that's not necessarily something you can grow up and have as a career. So instead, I've come up with career titles that students could actually grow up to be. Included are 8 jobs (listed below)

About the store

Experience

I am an advocate for anywhere anytime learning! I have taught in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms.

Teaching style

I believe in the power of relationships. Once students feel comfortable, safe, and loved - they are willing and ready to take the risks necessary to learn in the classroom. I like to use collaborative groupings, turn and talk, and meaningful integration of technology in the classroom so that students can learn from one another and the world around them.

My own education history

Summa Cum Laude graduate of Rider University
