About the store
I have over 13 years experience teaching high school math. I started my career teaching in Quincy, Florida for 2 years. After that I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina for 3 years. I tried it back home where I grew up in Juneau, Alaska for 2 years. After leaving Alaska, I moved back to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where I taught for 4 years and I was the department chair for the last 3 years. I taught in Clarksville, TN for 2 years and was a Level 5 teacher my final year there. I recently graduated with my Masters in Mathematics Education, K - 8, and I currently teach at Juneau Douglas High School.

Understanding Beginning Graphs &Linear Function Applications Worksheet
This worksheet is an excellent way for students to practice the fundamentals of graphs and functions. The first 8 problems are graphs that require the students to create a story that fits the graph. The last 8 problems are stories that the students have to create a graph for and label the axis appropriately. A great start to students truly understanding how graphs and functions work.

Distance Formula Dominos
This dominos set has 13 different problems, each dealing with using the distance formula. It contains basic numbers, fractions, decimals, z coordinates, and given distance find the missing coordinate.
It is a great activity and students truly want to complete the dominos set. When cutting it out, cut down the middle dark vertical line ONLY. Each horizontal domino should be cut out also. For ease of grading, I suggest labeling the dominos with letters (don't put it in order or have it say s

This worksheet is a great way to get students to practice tax & discount problems, in a different and more fun way than a traditional worksheet. It can be confusing to them if they have never done a bulls eye problem before, so it is important to do one "slice" with them. It is important for them to understand that the center corner is the basis for the entire slice. Overall this is a great way to have them practice the work and they will truly enjoy this better than a traditional worksheet.

They may be familiar with some of the formulas, but if they are not, they should still be able to create the equations and solve them. Experience
I have over 13 years experience teaching high school math. I started my career teaching in Quincy, Florida for 2 years. After that I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina for 3 years. I tried it back home where I grew up in Juneau, Alaska for 2 years. Teaching style
Each school that I have taught in has been considered a "low performing" school and I have always worked with students that come in lacking prior knowledge and the motivation to be successful.
I create and use a lot of activities and games that help keep my students engaged. A co-worker of mine calls me, "The Game Queen."
Awards & shining teacher moments
I was a Level 5 teacher for the 2011-2012 in Tennessee, with some of the highest scores in Algebra 2 for the school district (which included my inclusion class)
My own education history
I graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School in 1994. I attended Florida State University and earned my Bachelors degree in December 1998 for Curriculum and Instruction: Mathematics Education (6-12).
