Percent, Fraction, Decimal Tables Worksheet

Created by

This worksheet contains 10 tables that will have the students converting decimals to fractions or percents, fractions to decimals or percents, and percents to decimals and fractions. It is a great way for them to practice this key topic. On the top of the worksheet, I have even included an example for the students to determine how to complete the table. The example has directions on how to use the graphing calculator to change from a decimal to a fraction, but that can easily be changed. I h

This worksheet is an excellent way for students to practice the fundamentals of graphs and functions. The first 8 problems are graphs that require the students to create a story that fits the graph. The last 8 problems are stories that the students have to create a graph for and label the axis appropriately. A great start to students truly understanding how graphs and functions work.

This bingo game has a variety of problems dealing with solving equations. You can give the students the basic "naked" problem, or translate into a verbal statement which forces them to write the equation and solve it. I usually make the students create their board using a marker or pen and we cross off answers once they have been completed. I will use the same board for the entire game having the possible winning combinations: traditional bingo, 4 corners, box of 4, double bingo with 2 lin

This is a great way for your students to practice the midpoint point formula. There are basic midpoint point problems, 3-D midpoint problems, and midpoint problems that they have to find the end point. Before cutting it out, put a letter on the left of each card (not in alpha order). This will make it easy for you check if students put it in the right order. I was unable to do it for you because it messes up problems and answers. When it is time to cut it out, DO not cut on the dotted lin

You can do this activity two different ways. The first way, you can given groups of students a set of the cards and have them put together their matches. The other way is give each student a card in your classroom and have them find their pair. These are more rigorous verbal expressions. The pairs are the same statement, written in different ways. It is great practice, but the students need to understand how to write basic verbal statements before trying this one. Hope you enjoy it!

This worksheet has 13 problems (with key) that are great because it get students used to application problems that work with formulas. They may be familiar with some of the formulas, but if they are not, they should still be able to create the equations and solve them. The second half of the worksheet works with figures that are given the area or perimeter and they have to solve the equation that they create from the picture. I love this worksheet because it starts the process of breaking dow

This worksheet starts with a table listing the possible words used for creating verbal statements. The first 8 problems are algebraic expressions and the students are required to write two different verbal statements that represent the expression. The second set of problems is a verbal statement and the students need to write the correct algebraic expression.

This graphic organizer is broken into four sections: Consecutive Integers, Consecutive Even Integers, Consecutive Odd Integers, and Area/Perimeter. I usually use this the day after I have introduced consecutive integers. I have already explained and we have discovered where the patterns come from, but this graphic organizer gives them a reference sheet to help them when they forget. When I teach consecutive integers, I actually have them write the steps that I did from this graphic organizer

This worksheet has 18 problems that have the students calculate the percent of something. Then on the back page it has 6 application problems where they are finding the percent of something, then finding what amount remains after that percent. It is a basic worksheet, but it will save you time and it is a concept that even my 9th graders struggle with...so the more practice, the better! I hope you enjoy it.

This worksheet has 8 linear application problems that are broken down into 2 steps. The first step is to write the linear equation. The second part of the problem is when a number is given and the students have to decide where to plug it in, and how to solve the equation. It is a great practice worksheet and it will help them take things step by step.

This activity is great to use as a review of verbal statements. There are 18 different problems that focus on the areas that students mix up the most. For this activity, each student will need A, B, C, D cards (make sure that the letters are big enough for you to see from around the room and I recommend that all letters are the same color, otherwise students might copy from a neighbor). You can use dry erase boards, but they are more distracting than the cards. Put one of the overheads up,

Teaching style

Each school that I have taught in has been considered a "low performing" school and I have always worked with students that come in lacking prior knowledge and the motivation to be successful. I create and use a lot of activities and games that help keep my students engaged. A co-worker of mine calls me, "The Game Queen."

Awards & shining teacher moments

I was a Level 5 teacher for the 2011-2012 in Tennessee, with some of the highest scores in Algebra 2 for the school district (which included my inclusion class)

My own education history

I graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School in 1994. I attended Florida State University and earned my Bachelors degree in December 1998 for Curriculum and Instruction: Mathematics Education (6-12). Masters, Mathematics Education K-8, University of Alaska Southeast.

Additional biographical information

I love teaching and I have always been able to make connections with my students and peer teachers. I hope that you enjoy my activities, worksheets, tests, and anything else.
