About the store
I have over 13 years experience teaching high school math. I started my career teaching in Quincy, Florida for 2 years. After that I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina for 3 years. I tried it back home where I grew up in Juneau, Alaska for 2 years. After leaving Alaska, I moved back to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where I taught for 4 years and I was the department chair for the last 3 years. I taught in Clarksville, TN for 2 years and was a Level 5 teacher my final year there. I recently graduated with my Masters in Mathematics Education, K - 8, and I currently teach at Juneau Douglas High School.

Percent, Fraction, Decimal Tables Worksheet
This worksheet contains 10 tables that will have the students converting decimals to fractions or percents, fractions to decimals or percents, and percents to decimals and fractions. It is a great way for them to practice this key topic.
On the top of the worksheet, I have even included an example for the students to determine how to complete the table. The example has directions on how to use the graphing calculator to change from a decimal to a fraction, but that can easily be changed.

Algebra I Integers & Absolute Value Practice Worksheet
This is a 23 question worksheet (and key) that is broken down into 3 different parts. Part I is a Rational Number review, which includes graphing sets of rational numbers on a number line (and vice versa) and simplifying absolute value expressions. Part 2 practices addition and subtraction of integers through matrices. Part 3 practices integers operations through application problems. It is a great worksheet for in class or for homework.

Integer Bingo - 2 different games!
There are two different integer games here! Students love to play the game and it gives them an excellent opportunity to review such an important concept.
I usually make the students create their board using a marker or pen and we cross off answers once they have been completed. I will use the same board for the entire game having the possible winning combinations: traditional bingo, 4 corners, box of 4, double bingo with 2 lines, box of 9, or all the lines passing through the center.

This worksheet has 18 problems that have the students calculate the percent of something. Then on the back page it has 6 application problems where they are finding the percent of something, then finding what amount remains after that percent.
It is a basic worksheet, but it will save you time and it is a concept that even my 9th graders struggle with...so the more practice, the better! I hope you enjoy it.

This is a basic review sheet that I used in my Algebra I class. My students struggle at times with integer operations and understanding which integer is bigger, so I created this worksheet that enables students to practice their basic order of operations and integer comparison.

Number Classification Old Maid or Memory Game
This set of cards allows students to determine if numbers are rational, irrational, integers, whole numbers, or natural numbers. It can be used in groups of 3 playing old maid, or used as a memory game.
To play the game you make copies of the 2 problem sheets on construction paper. Then you make one copy of the boy at the board (the old maid card). I usually make 10 sets of cards. Each set of cards needs 1 old maid. To play the game students need to be in groups of 3. Each student gets 7

Algebra I Absolute Value Practice Worksheet
This is a 20 question worksheet (with Key) that is great practice with simplifying simple absolute values. There are some more difficult problems that have several steps, but overall it is a good worksheet for practicing absolute values. I originally used this worksheet as an in class assignment, because the second part was intended to be done using a graphing calculator and getting the students used to the abs function of the calculator. Teaching style
Each school that I have taught in has been considered a "low performing" school and I have always worked with students that come in lacking prior knowledge and the motivation to be successful.
I create and use a lot of activities and games that help keep my students engaged. A co-worker of mine calls me, "The Game Queen."
Awards & shining teacher moments
I was a Level 5 teacher for the 2011-2012 in Tennessee, with some of the highest scores in Algebra 2 for the school district (which included my inclusion class)

I graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School in 1994. I attended Florida State University and earned my Bachelors degree in December 1998 for Curriculum and Instruction: Mathematics Education (6-12).
