As part of my Allusions to Greek Mythology unit, I have my students research one Greek god, hero, or monster and fill out a brief description, as well as draw and color a picture, of them on a research card. This helps them make better connections to the myths these characters are in. This is a virtual escape room created with Google forms.  There are 6 locks with multiple problems to solve that directly coordinate with the lessons from Module 8 of our textbook.  I have also included a printable paper copy of the questions so that students can keep up with their answers as they go through the locks.  Once they finally “escape”, they will write down the secret code and share it with their teacher.  There is an answer key included. I used this as a fun review before the Module

Students will use their math skills to create a 3-dimensional dodecahedron and will include the number of faces, edges, and vertices. This is an ultimate reading project for a chapter book. Each panel (or face) of the dodecahedron focuses on a different reading skill. Some of the skills include theme, point of view, character description, and summary. This packet contains 2 activities with answer keys. The first one is a self-exploration of the angles of a triangle. Students should use protractors to measure all three angles in a triangle and come up with they think would be a good rule for the sum of angles in a triangle. The second activity gives them the rule for the sum of angles in a triangle, and asks students to tell what the measure of one angle is if given the other two. Students will choose between many options for creating a project. The topics listed are: layers of the earth, earthquakes, volcanoes, minerals, crystals, rocks, and fossils (cast and mold). The included rubric makes the projects easy to grade.

This half page bookmark was created with my after school tutoring group. It lists 19 strategies for students to use and remember during their reading test. You could copy this onto construction paper or card stock and laminate to use all year long.
