This 2 day lesson focuses on place and value of whole numbers as well as how to write a whole number in standard, word, and expanded form. Learning targets and exit slips are included on the slides.

5th grade social studies focuses on Native American culture. This rubric can be used for a Native American project. Some of the rubric focuses on classwork, so that section may not be applicable to you, but the chunk of the rubric focuses on a Native American report.
This project is designed to help students review important 5th grade social studies concepts at the end of the year. The projects can be divided up so that each group is in charge of a particular unit where they complete a poster to present to the class. Another idea is to give students enough time to complete all of the projects with their group. I had students present their project while their classmates took notes. I then let students do a poster "time walk" where they could read each poster.
This project is perfect for the 5th grade social studies standards. Students can research one of the 13 colonies using this graphic organizer. They can use their textbooks or other informational resources. Some resources I used are:

I created this cut out game for students to review different customary conversions. The game starts off pretty easy by reviewing base conversions and progresses in difficulty by having students practice conversions by jumping units as well as with multiple amounts of units.

There are 25 activities that allow students to extend their thinking, show their comprehension, and connect with the learning material in their own way. You can use these activities as an extra credit sheet, or a center activity for extensions in what they are learning. All activities can be adapted to different topics within a subject.
This project is a fun way for students to learn more about famous explorers and their accomplishments. sections include basic information, exploration facts, fun/interesting facts, major accomplishments, a picture, and a 5 paragraph report. Students can complete this individually or in groups and can use multiple sources of information to research their explorers and could present their findings if applicable.
