5th grade social studies focuses on Native American culture. This rubric can be used for a Native American project. Some of the rubric focuses on classwork, so that section may not be applicable to you, but the chunk of the rubric focuses on a Native American report.
This project is designed to help students review important 5th grade social studies concepts at the end of the year. The projects can be divided up so that each group is in charge of a particular unit where they complete a poster to present to the class. Another idea is to give students enough time to complete all of the projects with their group. I had students present their project while their classmates took notes. I then let students do a poster "time walk" where they could read each poster.
This project is perfect for the 5th grade social studies standards. Students can research one of the 13 colonies using this graphic organizer. They can use their textbooks or other informational resources. Some resources I used are:

Once students have researched their colonial region with their graphic organizer, they can transfer their information into a brochure and

I created this cut out game for students to review different customary conversions. The game starts off pretty easy by reviewing base conversions and progresses in difficulty by having students practice conversions by jumping units as well as with multiple amounts of units.

This bingo chart is designed to help students interact with their learning through all of the core subjects. There are 25 activities that allow students to extend their thinking, show their comprehension, and connect with the learning material in their own way. You can use these activities as an extra credit sheet, or a center activity for extensions in what they are learning. All activities can be adapted to different topics within a subject.
This product was used as an enrichment activity for my higher level students. The students are asked to work with money, time, directions, and organizational skills while planning a field trip for the class. Not only do students work with these math skills, they are also able to work on writing skills and presentation skills.
This project is a fun way for students to learn more about famous explorers and their accomplishments. sections include basic information, exploration facts, fun/interesting facts, major accomplishments, a picture, and a 5 paragraph report. Students can complete this individually or in groups and can use multiple sources of information to research their explorers and could present their findings if applicable.

This 8 page document has eight different common proverbs and idioms along with their meanings on each page. I used this as a classroom "scoot" where students could travel to each station and read the saying and discuss/predict the meaning and the type of figurative language. I folded over the answers underneath so that students who were struggling were able to use the answer key to help them. students were then asked to write the given idiom/proverb in a sentence.
These pages could also be cut a
I used this as a quiz for my students who were studying customary and metric conversions.
Students should fill in the conversion numbers as well as the names for each conversion that is required on 5th grade standards.
This page can be reproduced as a book for students to use with their vocabulary study. The page can be used for any subject area and focuses on a word study and application of the word vs. just memorizing the definitions.
