About the store
Differentiation equals success for all. Not every student learns at the same rate and has the same abilities. Learning can occur at many different levels, and it is vital that all students grow as critical thinkers, problem solvers, and learners. I offer different levels of tasks and assessments to ensure success for all students and make myself available to help in any way possible. I will continue to research and create new and better ways of allowing my students to reach their full potential and am always seeking innovative ways to help students succeed in my classroom. Not only do I want them to be successful, but I want them to enjoy learning along the way.
I model the importance of education by constantly furthering my education as well. I am proud to have earned a marketing degree, an early childhood education degree, a middle grades education degree, a master’s degree in early childhood education, a specialist degree in curriculum and instruction, and my gifted endorsement.

Clue Words
This is a document that will allow the students to know exactly which clue words are commonly used in algebra and which operation matches those clue words. It is very easy to understand this chart, and it is extremely helpful when teaching translating verbal phrases into algebraic expressions. This is also helpful in lower grades when teaching translating a word problem into a math sentence in order to solve the word problem.

Coordinate Plane Graphic Organizer
This is a graphic organizer that I made for my students' interactive notebook. The students label each part of the coordinate plane and have visual clues to help them. This is a great review before moving on to graphing points, graphing lines, transformations on the coordinate plane, etc.

I used common errors when creating the solutions to help them see the mistakes commonly made. There are two different levels of activities so that you can differentiate the lesson. Parent Functions Interactive Notes
This includes linear, quadratic, cubic, absolute value, square root, and rational functions. There are graphs and notes on each function. The notes for each function include domain, range, interval of increase or decrease, extrema, end behavior, x intercept, y intercept, rate of change, and symmetry.

Passing Notes - an Integer Operations Activity
This is a task I created for my students to practice integer operations. I uploaded it as a word document so that you may change it to meet your needs. In Part One: The students have to translate a note that was passed in class into grammatically correct language and then assign values to the words based on the information in the task. Finally, they have to add up the total value of the note that was passed. The answer key has the translated note, the value of each word, and the total value of

Clue Words Posters
This is a pdf that contains all four operations as well as equals and switch the order words. The words are inside the shape of the symbol that they go along with. Print these out and put them up in your classroom for the students to look at throughout the year to help them solve word problems and write algebraic expressions and equations.

This is a file of six of my Find the Error activities that I created for my students to find the mistakes in problems that have been solved incorrectly. This is a power point presentation and can be printed for students to practice over the summer by choosing several slides to print on each page of the booklet. This is a color coded cheat sheet of the coordinate plane and how to plot the x and y coordinates. It is a necessary skill to develop in middle grades math in order to be successful in algebra. This is a great reminder for test prep!

Tax, Tip, and Commission Task Cards
These 16 task cards include questions on calculating tax, tip, and commission. Questions range in difficulty from basic percent calculations to more difficult problems such as determining total bill when including tax and tip as well as how much a store needs to sale in order to make a certain percent commission. I use a variety of teaching strategies in my class. Projects, games, and interactive activities are just a few of the strategies I use. DIFFERENTIATION IS KEY!!!!

I taught in elementary and middle schools for 30 years. The last seven years I was instructional lead teacher. More recently, I have gotten certified as a behavior therapist working with autistic children.
