Solving Equations Fish Drawing:
Students must solve 15 equations. The equations start out as basic two-step equations and get more challenging. The equations include the distributive property, combining like terms and variables on both sides of the equation.
After solving the equations, the students must color the picture to reveal the fish. It is a great way for the students to self check their work.
This worksheet is a mix of different types of percent word problems. It is a great review for students after they have studied percent.
It involves find the percent of a number, finding the percent and percent change. There are also multi-step problems, such as simple interest and mark-ups and mark-downs.
At the bottom of the worksheet is a list of the correct answers. This allows the students to self check their own work.
Solving Equations #2 Balloon Drawing
Students must solve 15 equations. The equations start out as basic two-step equations and get more challenging. The equations include the distributive property, combining like terms and variables on both sides of the equation.
After solving the equations, the students must color the picture to reveal the hot air balloon. It is a great way for the students to self check their work. (This is the second worksheet in this set)
Students will go on a treasure hunt solving order of operation clues to find the treasure. Great classroom review activity!!

There
Story problems for fractions and decimals. This worksheet contains 8 real life story problems. There are 4 fraction and 4 decimal operation problems. The students must first choose what operation to use. Then, solve the problem.
In my classes, I first have them complete the worksheet alone. Then, I put them with a group to compare their answers. It makes for a really good group discussion. The students must compare the operation they choose, as well as the work itself.
Great practice for the order of operations!! (No negative integers)
This activity contains 20 problems that need to be simplified using the order of operations. The correct answers are given at the bottom of the sheet. If the students do the problems correctly, a motivational quotation by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will be shown.

Solving Multi-Step Equations Worksheet:
The equations require the students to use the distributive property, combine like terms and work with variables on both sides of the equation.
There is an answer box at the bottom of the page that allows the students to check their work as they go.
It is very similar to the first Solving Equations worksheet that I created. It is an excellent follow-up activity to the first worksheet.
Introduction for Algebra students to Quadratic Equations:
This is a problem solving activity which allows students to create their own plan to solve the problem. Most students generally create a table that allows them to see the basic pattern in a quadratic equation with A being negative. The values increase to the maximum point, then they decrease.
This is the perfect activity to complete before starting a unit on quadratic equations.
