I use this to get students used to translating and identifying tenses at a young age in year 7. Ideal to get students into the swing for the new GCSE syllabus. A short translation based on in my bag vocabulary. I admit it is contrived to be able to include tenses but the students seem to like the workout!
A text with idiomatic phrases with questions and find the vocabulary from the English in the Spanish text. The words are underlined, so students have to match them up. This is a higher level task which is challenging. I use it in my flipped classroom and students can choose this task over a couple of others. It can also be used as part of a homework menu, which, again, I do sometimes.
A short prose text in English for students to translate into Spanish. Good for homework, which I use it for on a homework menu on our VLE, or could be a classwork task or part of a carousel.
Print these out for the students, laminate them, get the students to stick them in the bedrooms, anything to get this somewhat complicated tense into their brains!
My students were so keen to print them out that they did it in their lunch break !
Have a look at my dressing the tense game as well to reinforce the idea of dressing up with a tense

Laminate this in A3 and put in your classroom. I am always amazed that my year 10, 11, 12 and 13 students can't remember the alphabet in Spanish, yet they remember complicated vocabulary. Enjoy this one for free!!
